UK Runners needed urgently!

Running partners needed for dedicated multi marathon runner Lee Dodgson

On 14 May, following 10 months of gruelling training, Alice House Hospice supporters Lee Dodgson and John Hewitson began their 827-mile attempt to run from Land's End to John O'Groats with the aim of raising £40,000 in sponsorship for patient care.

Running this distance alone is as emotionally draining as it is physical.

They set themselves a target of 16 days in which to complete this challenge, which meant running 2 marathons every single day for more than two weeks.  They set off in high spirits with over half of their massive target already raised.

Very sadly, after the first half marathon of day 3 John Hewistson sustained a serious leg injury, rendering him unable to go on and meaning that Lee faces the remainder of the  challenge alone.

Lee needs running partners from anywhere in the country to join him for whatever distance they can.  Running this distance alone is as emotionally draining as it is physical.

We are in the process of trying to establish a live GPS feed on Lee so that people wishing to join him can track his whereabouts.

Thank You!

If you can help or spread the word to recruit support for this hero to get him to John O’Groats, please contact Greg Hildreth on 01429 855529 or email ghildreth@alicehousehospice.co.uk to discuss logistics.
