Festive Fundraising Ideas
How you can help your local Hospice this Festive Season
There's always loads going on throughout the festive season here at Alice House Hospice and always ways for people to get involved, help fundraise or simply take time out to remember a loved one.
Here’s the line up but if you have any other fundraising ideas we would love to hear from you – Contact Us.
This is the 10th annual Santa Fun Run and will take place at 11 am in the beautiful surroundings of Ward Jackson Park in the centre of Hartlepool.
The run, or walk if you prefer, is on a short route starting and finishing at The Place in the Park where you will be able to indulge yourself with a hot drink and mince pie.
Registration is only £8.00 for adults and includes a Santa Suit and £5.00 for children under 16 years of age which includes a Rudolf nose and Antlers or a Santa Hat.
Whilst a Christmas card lasts only a few weeks, your support of our Share a Card Appeal will leave a legacy of care for Hospice patients.
It is very easy to take part in our Share a Card appeal; you will receive a communal card for your workplace (or somewhere else) in which friends or colleagues write a Christmas greeting and make a donation to Alice House Hospice in lieu of sending individual cards. Payment of money collected can be arranged in January.

Trees of Remembrance
Visitors to our Trees of Remembrance Stall in Middleton Grange Shopping Centre can place a bauble and write a dedication to a lost loved one for a small donation to the Hospice.
The stall runs from Tuesday 21 November – Friday 22 December and is situated in the middle of the walkway close to Specsavers, who kindly sponsor the event.
The stall will also be selling Hospice merchandise, including our 2018 Calendars.
New Year's Resolutions
Getting sponsored to stick to your resolutions is a good motivator and a great way to support patient care.
You can create an online fundraising page here to support you whether you are giving up smoking, booze or chocolate, getting fit or losing weight. Alternatively, if you would like paper sponsor forms please contact Janice Forbes on 01429 855536 or email her at email@example.com
If you are taking part in the Hartlepool Round Table Boxing Day Dip, you can still raise sponsorship for the Hospice through braving the icy North Sea.

Christmas Jumper/Santa Suit Day
Pick a day in your workplace, school or anywhere else for you and your friends to wear their favourite festive jumper or a Santa Suit (available from the Hospice) and make a donation to the Hospice.
If you would like to take part please let the community fundraiser Janice Forbes on 01429 855536 or email email@example.com
Donating Christmas Stock
The Hospice charity shops constantly need new stock, particularly at Christmas and we would welcome donations of good quality stock.
If you would like to arrange a ‘Bring a Bag’ day at your workplace, our Retail Team can collect these. We also welcome donations of unwanted Christmas gifts to help us re-stock our shops ready for 2018.
Find out where your local shop is or contact our Warehouse – details can be found here.
Each year more and more Hospice supporters are making donations instead of sending each other Christmas cards.
Instead of spending money on cards that will most likely end up in the bin or recycling by the Twelfth Night, you can make a donation of your choice to the Hospice. You can still send a Christmas message to your friends and family with a special message which you can download using the following.

We always need volunteers to help support our fundraising and even more so at Christmas for things like bag packs, bucket collections and ad hoc event support.
If you are able to spare some time for a rewarding experience, please contact Janice Forbes on 01429 855536 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
Holding your own fundraiser
These are all just suggestions of how you can help but we also welcome anyone with their own fundraising ideas, from Christmas party events to organising your own cake sale or raffle.
To discuss different ways to help fundraise please contact Janice Forbes on 01429 855536 or email her at email@example.com
