Will Making raises over £5,500 for Alice House

Tilly Bailey & Irvine Law Firm in Hartlepool took part in the Make A Will Month initiative for Alice House Hospice and raised a fantastic £5,727

During Make A Will Month, TBI created wills throughout October 2022 for clients who instead of paying a fee, donated to the Hospice, all of which added up to the fundraising total.

The Lord Lieutenant of Durham visits Alice House

Alice House Hospice staff and volunteers recently welcomed VIP guests on an official visit to the local charity.

The Lord Lieutenant of Durham, Mrs Sue Snowdon who is the King’s personal representative in the region, attended the Hospice on Friday 17 March for a tour of the premises and talked to staff about their work and some of the challenges currently faced by Hospices.

Captain’s Charity raises almost £10,000

Long term Alice House Hospice supporters at Hartlepool Golf Club have just handed over a donation to the local charity of nearly £10,000 after being nominated as the Captain’s Charity.

2022-23 Captain Gary Carruthers chose the Hospice and spent the last year raising funds for the charity as part of his official duties. In February of this year, he invited Greg Hildreth from Alice House to accept the donation of £9,150.

New Kitchen donated to Long-Term Unit

Local tradesmen and businesses have joined forces to donate and fit a brand-new kitchen in the Long-Term Care Unit of Alice House Hospice.

This was organised by Martin Griffiths of MG Joinery after his dad Albert was cared for in both the Hospice’s Inpatient Unit and later the Long-Term Unit. Martin sourced and fitted the kitchen completely free of charge, with the help of friends and business contacts, in memory of Albert and also his mam, Sheila.

Strolling in Memory

Fundraisers at Alice House Hospice are delighted to announce that Mason’s Funeral Services are sponsoring this year’s Memory Stroll event which takes place on 16 April.

The Memory Stroll is an organised, peaceful stroll around the Headland from the Heugh Gun Battery. It’s a chance for people to get together, stroll along the promenade at the historic headland, chat together and remember those loved ones who are no longer with them.
