Children’s Bereavement Service
The Hospice Children’s Bereavement Service is a specialised service for children and young people.
A child’s grief can be very difficult to deal with as they often have alternative ways of communicating their upset and at times, anger.
Our highly trained Children’s Counsellors have the appropriate experience to help children with grief and loss. This can be done through play therapy and being creative to allow the child to feel relaxed and comfortable while addressing those important issues.
The children’s counselling room is a warm and welcoming environment where children will feel safe to express themselves and build a professional relationship with their counsellor.
The Children’s Bereavement Service offers young people individual counselling and support and a range of resources for carers, parents and schools such as DVD’s, worksheets and specialist literature.
If you think that a young person you know would benefit from this service please feel free to contact the team who will be happy to answer any questions you may have about making a referral.
