Follow #LEJOGAH’s progress along their multi marathon challenge

Lee Dodgson and John Hewitson started their run from Land’s End to John O’Groats on Sunday 14 May to cover the 827 miles in 16 days in aid of Hospice care.

So far the dedicated pair have raised over £20,000 in the campaign and are hoping to hit £40,000 by the time they are finished.

A huge boost to the project came from a charity ball organised by Lee and John’s wives, Claire and Rachael respectively. The event was held on 28 April at Hartlepool College of Further Education and included reception drinks, three course dinner, raffles, live music and dancing. The runners also took the opportunity to speak to the 150 strong audience about the work of the Hospice and why they are so keen to lend their support. The dinner raised a fantastic £4,500.

Hospice Fundraiser Greg Hildreth, who attended the night said “This was an incredible event and a great way to boost Lee and John’s fundraising total, as well as raising awareness for the project and the care services that the Hospice provides to people with life limiting illnesses. I would like to say a huge thank you to Claire and Rachael, Lee and John and all who have supported them so far.  On behalf of the all at the Hospice I would also like to wish them the very best of luck in this mammoth undertaking.”
