Introducing our Partners Group and Carers Support Group

We are pleased to announce that there will be two new support groups starting in February 2018.

The Partners Group

This is a social evening for people who have lost their partners through bereavement and will run on Monday nights from 6pm – 8pm.

The group is aimed at helping people to make friendships with others who are in the same situation and to help prevent the profound loneliness that often comes after a partner has died.

This is an informal group which provides a range of activities, if desired, or just the opportunity to chat; food and drinks will be available from the Bistro.

Tracy Woodall, Chief Executive said, “It is anticipated that members will access this group for up to one year and will then move on with a group of supportive friends.”

The Carers Support Group

This is a more structured group which aims to make the carer’s role easier through improved support and training.  It will be a six week rolling programme and will run on Wednesday evenings between 5pm and 8pm.

The Carers Support Group will provide care for people in the Holistic Wellbeing Centre whilst carers are supported with a programme of activities.

Individual sessions consist of understanding moving and handling; medicines management, roles, relationships and barriers; complementary therapies; mindfulness and information sharing around specialist services support.  Light refreshments will be provided for both patients and carers.

For more information or to enquire about joining one of these groups please contact a member of the team on 01429 855555 or use our Contact Us form here on the website.
