It’s Hootenanny Time Again

Planning for the annual Hootenanny & Beer Fest at Hartlepool Rugby Club is well underway.

The event raises funds for Alice House Hospice, who are charity partners of Hartlepool Rugby Club, and takes place at the the club’s home of Mayfield Park, Easington Road, Hartlepool on Bank Holiday Sunday, 28 August.

The day offers a wide selection of beers, lagers and ciders to try as well as a variety of street food vendors and a gin bar. Throughout the day, there will be live music including performances by headliners Guess, Pek & Wanley and Dig The Old Breed, plus more acts to be confirmed. Also appearing is event regular Fake Charles, Funk & Soul DJ who will be playing in between the bands.

Book tickets before they sell out!

The Hoot is sponsored by Cameron’s Brewery who also provide support in sourcing the beers, Exwold Technology are sponsoring the cups on the day and Seymour Civil Engineering have helped by sourcing a generator to power the event. There are still other sponsorship opportunities and interested parties can contact the Hospice’s Fundraising Senior Manager Julie Hildreth on jhildreth@alicehousehospice.co.uk

“We have seen this event grow from taking place in the club house to now being inside a huge marquee on the pitch. We are so grateful to the club and all the people that keep coming back every year to enjoy the day. Hopefully the sun will be shining and I’m sure we’ll have another fantastic sell-out.

This kind of support makes a real difference to local patients and families accessing Hospice care in Hartlepool and East Durham. Without events like this and the companies and individuals that get involved, we would not be able to provide our services.

I would also like to say a big thank you to everyone at the Rugby Club for their ongoing support, especially Liam Lester, for all of his hard work on this event.”

Julie Hildreth, Fundraising Senior Manager, Alice House Hospice

Tickets are selling well and the event has a history of being a complete sell-out, so early booking is advisable.

Tickets for the Hootenanny are only available via the Hospice website and can be booked online here.

It is unlikely that there will be tickets available on the door. The event is for over 18s and starts at 2pm.
