Enjoy a Celebration Dinner at Wynyard Hall

Alice House Hospice are collaborating with a number of their business partners to host a luxurious fundraising event in January to celebrate the work of the charity and the generous support it receives.

The Alice House Celebration Dinner will be held at Wynyard Hall on 31 January and is co-hosted by Property Webmasters and sponsored by Hospice Patrons Utility Alliance. The event is also supported by Orange Box Training Solutions Ltd. whose CEO, Simon Corbett will be compere for the evening.

Government announcement on hospice funding

Hospice UK has welcomed the Government’s pledge for extra short-term financial support for charitable hospices in England in recognition of the challenges they are facing.

"We are especially pleased that the Prime Minister and Matt Hancock have committed to working with us all to agree more sustainable hospice funding in the future."

Fab new family event supported by the local business community

Alice House Hospice are collaborating with Wynyard Hall and Kids 1st Nursery at Wynyard for a new family fundraising event.

The charity’s first ever Unicorn & Dragon Hunt takes place on Sunday 11 August in the scenic gardens at Wynyard Hall.

Team pedal their way to fundraising success

Local company Bridgman IBC completed a three day coast to coast bike ride in aid of their nominated charity Alice House Hospice and raised over £6,000 in sponsorship for patients and families who are affected by incurable illnesses.

Seven Bridgman IBC staff members took part in the challenge, cycling 148 miles and climbing 10,000 ft. over the three days. The team smashed their fundraising target of £5,000 and raised an incredible £6,169.72 which is already being put to good use at Alice House.

Yorkshire Bank raise over £1,000 going purple

Yorkshire bank pulled out the stops during Purple Week this year and raised over £1,000 for local charity Alice House Hospice.

The week of purple fundraising saw in-store activities including a cake sale raise in the region of £500 which was subsequently matched by the bank to bring the total to over £1,000.

TJ Hughes Purple Week Success

Purple Week takes place every year in early Spring and the Hospice invites supporters to help raise funds and awareness, using the colour purple as a theme.

This year Alice House Hospice’s annual Purple Week took place between 13-19 April and there was great support from individuals, groups and businesses throughout the town, including T J Hughes in Middleton Grange, who raised a fantastic £863 for the charity.

Memory Strolling …

Sunday 28th April saw a brand new event, The Memory Stroll, take place to raise funds for Alice House Hospice.

The Memory Stroll was a delightful walk along the sea front from the Heugh Gun Battery at the Headland and offered those who took part the chance to walk with friends and family and share their memories of loved ones. As part of the registration for the event everyone also received free admission to the Gun Battery Museum on the day.

Sylvia’s Handy Bags for Alice House

Alice House Hospice are holding their second Summer Fayre on 25th May between 11am and 3pm at the Holistic Wellbeing Centre on Holdforth Road. 

There will be stalls, children’s activities, donkey rides, fairground rides and much, much more. 

Easter Raffle goes down a treat…

A raffle prize which was recently made and donated by a patient from Day Hospice was raffled by the Reception Team at Alice House.
