Three amazing staff members from Alice House Hospice are taking on the Great North Run in support of Alice House Hospice

The three ladies, Paula Tempest, Kat Inch and Grace McCann will be running to raise funds for and awareness of the work that Alice House does.

£935 of Appreciation – thank you!

An appreciative supporter recently handed over £935 as a thank you to Alice House Hospice for support he has received.

As a way of thanking the Hospice for the support of their Grief Counsellors, Andrew AKA Johnny Weismuller recently handed over a donation of £935.

A wonderful Mother’s Day treat

Whatever the occasion, Christmas, Easter or Mothering Sunday, Alice House is always full of wonderful staff who choose to spend these special days caring for our patients.

Christine – raising money in memory of Michael

Christine Neil is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to selling raffle tickets; over the course of three Hospice Raffles she has sold almost 5,000 tickets on our behalf!

Christine’s beloved husband Michael, had been battling cancer for three years and before Christmas 2019 had been told his prognosis was poor, but he had kept that from his family. He made a huge effort to decorate the house
and put up the Christmas lights to ensure they all had a Christmas to remember. Christine could tell all was not well and recalls that, for a man who loved his food, he could not eat his Christmas dinner.

Gillian’s story

Gillian Holbrook was a dedicated Alice House volunteer and fundraiser who sadly and unexpectedly died in November 2021. She is hugely missed by all of her friends at the Hospice.

Gillian became involved with Alice House in 2016 after retiring from a Senior Management role in the Civil Service.
