Social Day Care
Enhancing social wellbeing, not just for one day but every day.
Alice House Social Day Care is open to any adult living in Hartlepool or East Durham with life-limiting or terminal illnesses who would benefit from more social activities to enhance their wellbeing.
What is Social Day Care?
Our relaxed, friendly social group sessions are a great place for people to socialise with others in an environment which is focussed on choice, empowerment and respect. We offer a range of activities for patients to get involved in which they can continue to enjoy at home, such as:
Arts & Crafts
Gardening & Allotment Keeping
Reading, music & films
Spiritual and faith based activities
Our social groups are open on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday each week from 9am – 4pm.
“I have met wonderful people who have changed my life completely. I don’t know what I’d have done, this has been my lifeline.”
What does it cost?
It costs £35 per day which can be met by a Personal Budget or Continuing Healthcare Funding, or it can be paid privately by the patient. This cost includes all activities, materials and a three course lunch.
Any specialist care needs, including PEG tube feeding, catheter care and administration of medication will also be met by our trained, professional team.
Making a referral
Any healthcare professional can make a referral by calling our team direct on 01429 855585 or alternatively the patient can self refer.
